Yesterday I had the chance to host a small playtest of Story War with a few friends at Snakes And Lattes in downtown Toronto and it was really a lot of fun
The game really lends itself to ridiculous and engrossing conversations that are fun and engaging from round to round to the point where you can’t really zone out, nor do you ever really want to
Every round was really distinct in regard to the direction the narrative took each time! The first round involved very straight-forward combat and strategy while the second one seemed more to involve emotional warfare and getting the characters wrapped up in a nightmare of legal redtape that was the direct result of their very aggressive actions in a public place
Perhaps the most engaging round was the one involving Bugbear because no matter who ended up winning, everyone involved agreed that Bugbear is the fucking best
We love Bugbear and we love Story War
